Great works of art are not beyond the understanding of children. The goal of ARTK12 books is to teach students to look at great works of art and understand what they see. Each book explores one work of art, explains its narrative and symbolic content and sets it in its historical and geographic context. Comic characters lure students into enjoying the discussion. To help maintain their attention and entice them to consider at the art more carefully, forgery games are interspersed within the text. Scavenger hunts at the end of each book tempt the students to review the book and remember what they've seen and learned.
